Job Description:

We’re seeking Associate DevOps Engineers who are enthusiastic about leveraging automation across AWS and on-premises infrastructure, as well as exploring cutting-edge technologies. As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality software products in the cloud. You will collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in AWS/Cloud. You will leverage automation tools such as Infrastructure as Code, Pipeline as Code, and Configuration as Code to streamline processes.


Essential Functions:

 

  • Automation and Infrastructure Management:
  • Assist in leveraging automation tools such as Infrastructure as Code, Pipeline as Code, and Configuration as Code to streamline processes.
  • Support the implementation of automated solutions, including continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines.
  • Help develop and maintain automated testing practices to ensure software quality.
  • Monitor and maintain robust systems through observability practices.
  • Collaboration and Development:
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in AWS/Cloud.
  • Work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based solutions.
  • Utilize programming languages and tools, including Bash, Powershell, and Python for development.
  • Assist with container orchestration services such as ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes, and leverage a range of AWS tools.
  • Modern Device Management and M365 Administration:
  • Manage, develop, and deploy modern device management solutions such as Intune, JAMF, and Workspace ONE.
  • Develop and deploy automation efforts with Microsoft 365 tools and services to enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Application Deployment and VDI Migration:
  • Participate in automated application deployment projects, ensuring smooth and efficient rollouts.
  • Support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) migration projects and provide ongoing support for VDI environments.
  • Continuous Learning and Improvement:
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Learn and implement new automation technologies by analyzing technical specifications.
  • Adhere to security best practices and support the implementation of best practices across the organization.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
  • Resolve production issues promptly, engaging IT and vendors as needed.
  • Provide workday and after-hours support, including troubleshooting and problem correction.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems or a relevant discipline. preferred

Work Experience:



Prior Experience with Cloud Computing Principles, with a focus on AWS services preferred Prior Experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service. preferred Any AWS/Azure/GCP Certification (developer, solution architect, networking, infrastructure) preferred.

  • Prior knowledge of AWS Services: some proficiency in various AWS services such as EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and others is essential for deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS Cloud.
  • Prior experience with DevOps Tools: Familiarity with popular DevOps tools like Jenkins,

Git, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform is necessary to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.

  • Experience deploying and managing virtualized desktop infrastructure such as Horizon, Citrix, AWS Workspaces, Windows 365.
  • Working knowledge of Modern Device Management platforms such as Intune, Workspace ONE, and JAMF.
  • Scripting and Programming: some proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash and Powershell enables the creation of custom automation scripts and development of infrastructure-as-code solutions.
  • Networking Concepts: basic understanding of networking concepts, including VPC, subnets, security groups, load balancers, and VPNs, facilitates the design and implementation of reliable and scalable network architectures.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are crucial to identify and resolve issues related to infrastructure, security, performance, or scalability, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolution of incidents.
  • Strong Communication Skills: In a technology transformation role, it is crucial to be able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including team members, project managers, and clients. Clear and concise communication helps ensure everyone is on the same page and can contribute to the successful implementation of a cloud DevOps infrastructure.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: The cloud technology landscape is constantly evolving, and a technology transformation role requires the ability to adapt and embrace change. Being open to new ideas, learning new tools and technologies, and being flexible in approach are important soft skills for success in an AWS Cloud DevOps Infrastructure Engineering job.
  • Some proficiency in Scripting Languages: Like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating infrastructure tasks.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $72,851 – $91,920. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
