In this role as Lead AI Engineer, you’ll take a strategic leadership role in shaping our international AI Research & Innovation team. You will be responsible for setting the direction and standards for AI projects, guiding the team in translating advanced AI research into scalable solutions, and mentoring team members to achieve their full potential. Working in tandem with the Lead Software Engineer, you’ll create a roadmap for growth and foster a research-driven, high-performance environment that aligns with our goals to revolutionize industrial automation.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for AI projects within the team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry needs.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of AI researchers, junior engineers, and automation specialists, building a collaborative and innovative work culture.
• Set and enforce standards for AI development, including model quality, scalability, and reproducibility, across all stages of the AI lifecycle.
• Guide the team in deploying AI solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and integration with embedded systems, using modern MLOps practices.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for AI strategy, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to define priorities and manage expectations.
• Maintain a strong focus on research, bringing the latest advances in AI (deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, etc.) into practical, industry-ready applications.
• Advocate for high-quality, research-driven solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and certification standards.

Our Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in AI, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in AI/ML, with a proven track record of leading AI initiatives, ideally in industrial automation.
• Strong expertise in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and MLOps practices; experience in cloud-based deployment and machine learning frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to translate research into high-impact, scalable AI solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex AI concepts to various audiences.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred

• Publication record in top AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML) is advantageous.
• Proven track record of innovative AI applications in industrial automation.
• Experience building a collaborative, high-performance team culture in a research-driven environment.
