About the job
We’re looking for an experienced Database Administrator with strong expertise in MySQL and/or PostgreSQL to join our team at Hirazo. If you’re someone who takes ownership of database performance, reliability, and security—and thrives in production-critical environments—we’d love to hear from you.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring the health of our database systems. You’ll work closely with developers, contribute to architecture decisions, and implement best practices around availability, automation, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimize database performance, query throughput, and resource usage
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues proactively
- Support application development through schema design, code review, and query tuning
- Collaborate with developers to improve application–database integration
- Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Mentor team members and contribute to technical knowledge sharing
Who We’re Looking For
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Strong command of SQL and deep understanding of performance tuning
- Experience with replication, clustering, and database security best practices
- Comfortable working in cloud and production environments
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and guide others when needed
